8.69 mln International Visits in Georgia in Jan-Nov 2019
From January to November of this year, the number of international travelers to Georgia reached 8,690,352, which is 7.2% higher compared to the same period of the previous year. According to the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA), this is a historic raise.
Tourist-type visits, considered as those who stayed in Georgia for at least one night, was 4,768,432, which is a 6.3% increase, compared to 2018.
The top countries are: Russia – 1,406,255 (4.9%), Azerbaijan – 1,404,028 (7%), Armenia – 1,230,834 (5.9%), and Turkey – 1,075,812 (4.3%)
In November 2019, 670,122 international travelers came to the country, which is 12% more compared to the same period of 2018. According to the statistics, citizens of Armenia (116,712), Azerbaijan (114,657), Russia (82,029), and Turkey (81,736) were top visitors in Georgia for the past month.
Additionally, international visits in November 2019 increased from the following countries Kazakhstan (169.3%), Kyrgyzstan (134.8%), China (52.6%), Saudi Arabia (46%), Israel (36.3%), Italy (84.8%), Poland (80.4%), France (35.5%), German (35.4%) and Latvia (26.6%).
