Georgian Wine Praised in Japan

At 6th Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards held this month, 24 Georgian wineries have received two double-gold medals, 15 gold, and seven silver medals.  Among the winners are following Georgian wine companies: Besini Winery, Bolero & Company, Dugladze Wine Company, Shalva Gvaramadze Winery, Vazi + LTD Binekhi Winery, Vaziani Winery, Winery Chelti, Kindzmarauli, Shalauri Wine Cellars, and Vaziani Company.

These companies were selected from more than 4,000 different wines from 34 countries during the tasting assessment held at the end of January.  The products were judged by leading professional women in the wine industry.

 At the international exhibition, FOODEX Japan 2019, held on March 5 will reveal the Diamond Trophy award winners among the selected double gold winners. This is the most prestigious award and two Georgian wine companies will be competing against eight other wineries.
