Austrian company to start helicopter skiing in Georgian ski resorts
The Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia has given Austrian company Wucher Helicopter GmbH the permission to carry out flights in alpine resorts of Georgia.
The company will fly to Gudauri, Goderdzi, and Mestia ski resorts from January 18 to April 15 with three AS 350 B3 Ecureuil modern helicopters.
The flights will start from the Mountainous Adjara ski resort Goderdzi on January 18. They will operate according to visual flight rules, meaning that there is a set of regulations under which a pilot flys an aircraft in clear weather conditions to see the direction of the plane.
Wucher Helicopter GmbH is not the only foreign helicopter company to start flights to the alpine resorts. Since 2018, a German HTM Helicopter Travel Munich GmbH has been carrying out trips to the ski resorts.
